WhatsApp is testing these design changes for iPhone and Windows users – Times of India

WhatsApp is reportedly testing new design changes for Apple iOS (iPhone) and Windows users. As per a report by WABetaInfo, the platform has rolled out new beta updates for iOS app and (Universal Windows Platform) UWP based desktop app. The report claims that with the latest update, the Facebook owned platform is introducing minor changes in the iOS version of its app. The company has redesigned the switch camera icon. The icon is smaller than the previous version and also misses out on the transparency effect. In addition to this, WhatsApp has also removed the horizontal bar that showed recent images in the phone’s gallery.
The platform has also changed the gallery button at the bottom of the screen. With the updates, the button now shows the last image saved on your smartphone. As per the previous reports, WhatsApp is planning to revamp the in-app camera in Android smartphones to look similar to the iOS app. If the report is to be believed, then the company may introduce this new change for Android devices soon.
When it comes to the UWP app, WhatsApp is adding dark theme to the platform with the latest beta update. According to the screenshots shared by WABetaInfo, If you are using a dark theme on Windows, the app will automatically set the theme to dark.
If a user wishes to change the theme, they can do so by going to WhatsApp Settings > General. It is worth noting that the changes will only apply after the app is restarted. Apart from this, the app tint colour is now green. Users can also notice minor space between chat bubbles after the update. The features mentioned above are only available to users who are part beta programs. The company has not yet revealed any details about these design changes officially.
