Giambattista Valli Unveils His Spring Summer 2022 Couture Collection

Paris Haute Couture Week has become fragmented with few brands showing physically and some, like Giorgio Armani opting to cancel, or, those choosing to show digitally. The Omicron variant is the reason for this fragmentation but fashion always manages to carry on in difficult times. Giambattista Valli, the Italian but Paris based designer known for his voluminous shapes, timeless elegance, and luxury style has created a collection that merges Haute Couture and Ready-to-Wear under two distinct storytelling seasons: “The Valli Experience” and “Haute Couture N° 22”.

In true Giambattista Valli form, the designer has created gowns of volumes, layers, and palatable designs. According to notes from the house, these two seasons takes “its viewer by the hand to explore the Maison’s plentiful windows of expertise, ranging from dynamic propositions to the most iconic and elaborate silhouettes.”

Watch “The Valli Experience”-

The seventeen pieces in Couture N° 22 are comprised with feminine cuts, mostly of long-length with a color palette of blush pink, black, creams matched with shimmery silver, and Valli’s signature red. A light pink creation in princess cut for the skirting, and a bodice with a big bow expresses elegance and total feminine qualities. Valli has introduced two black gowns with intriguing floral design of green and pink throughout the dresses- one with feathers extending off the of the dress giving 3D shape.

Bows, layers, and flamboyant cuts in silk mousseline, taffeta, faille, feather embroideries, and multi-layered plissé tulle also occupy the collection. The last look, the bridal gown is dreamy with folds throughout with a matching cape and medieval inspired hood.

The Valli Experience, ready-to-wear collection is filled with sleek fall daywear looks. Oversized jackets paired with short and tights and knee boots. Leopard prints, light pinks, blush nudes, floral print dresses, lace dresses, and pajama looks are eye catching.

A very feminine collection to kick off the SS22 Couture season, it must be seen, and once seen, it is desired.
