Foodies are raving about a new supermarket buy after a mum made two delicious plates of chicken pad Thai using an Aldi meal box ($14.99).
‘Thought we’d try the Pad Thai in a box tonight,’ she wrote beneath photos of the meal. ‘And it was so delicious!’
The mum revealed that though the serving size of the packet serves four people, it depends on individual portion sizes.

Many were impressed with the results of Aldi’s pre-prepped meal boxes.
‘My husband and I just finished our tofu pad thai boxes for dinner,’ wrote one woman. ‘It was absolutely delicious.’
‘Our family had the meal box for the first time last night,’ shared another. ‘The serving sizes were huge. It fed three of us with a bit of leftovers.’
‘I have these for dinner all the time – they’re so yummy.’
‘This is honestly one of the easiest and quickest dinners I’ve ever made – perfect for meal prepping and when you don’t have enough time during the week,’ added another.

But several others were peeved they couldn’t get their hands on the meal in the first place.
‘I couldn’t find these meals at our local store or the two nearest ones.’ shared one man.
He added, ‘So many people have been sharing them and they look amazing!’
‘I tried looking for the pad thai and the burgers last time I was there and I couldn’t find either.’

But the pad thai is not the only meal kit in high demand.
‘Found this and couldn’t wait to try it, was delicious,’ she wrote.
The meal kit is typically $14.99, but many mums revealed the often manage to pick them up for $10 on sale.
‘They are way better than some of the meal boxes I have paid a fortune for,’ one woman wrote.

Others revealed how they managed to get more than two serves from the box – so they could feed the whole family.
‘I made them tonight too and used the cheese sauce to make a quick mac and cheese because my toddler wasn’t into the idea of burgers,’ one mum said.
‘So we ended up getting four full serves of food out of it by adding 40cents worth of pasta.’
Another mum said she made he beef patties slightly smaller so her son could have some too.
Others said they weren’t sold on the liquid cheese which came with the pack – so put regular cheese slices on their burgers instead.
‘I thought the same but it turned out to be amazing – we dipped our chips in it too.

Others complained the $14.99 and even $10 price tag was ‘too expensive’.
‘I think Aldi is getting to be a lot more expensive, I wouldn’t pay that much for two burgers,’ one woman said.
‘For that amount you could buy the ingredients and serve four,’ complained another.
The box kit includes the potato chips, coleslaw, meat, cheese and buns, according to the mum who posted the photo online.
‘It has everything you need to make the meal, it is a bargain,’ she said.
