The Oscars are back. This year, the ceremony is returning to its home at Dolby Theater — proper red carpet and all — after last year’s relocation to the Los Angeles train station due to Covid.

Airing this Sunday, the 94th Academy Awards will feature studio blockbusters and independent films alike up for gold statuettes. The most-nominated films this year include The Power of the Dog with 12 nominations, Dune with 10, and West Side Story with seven. As for Best Actor and Best Actress awards, fans are especially eager to see if Kristen Stewart will take home gold for Spencer, while Will Smith and Andrew Garfield appear to be front-runners in the Best Actor category.

This year’s music nominations, meantime, are equally star-studded: Beyoncé and Darius Scott are up for King Richard’s “Be Alive,” Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell are nominated for James Bond’s “No Time to Die,” and Lin-Manuel Miranda is up for “Dos Oruguitas” from the Encanto soundtrack.

Still need to catch up on the Oscar-nominated films? Check out our guide for streaming the this year’s Oscar nominees here.

Oscars 2022 Host, Presenters, Performers

As usual, this year’s Oscars will be a star-studded event.

The last two Oscars ceremonies notably did away with a host. This year, however, the Academy is once again brining in hosts for the event — three of them, in fact: Regina Hall, Amy Schumer, and Wanda Sykes.

A few musical performances have also been confirmed, including sets by Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, jazz pianist Robert Glasper, and Prince percussionist Sheila E. The Oscars’ in-house orchestra is also set to return this year after their absence last year due to Covid. More performances are sure to crop up, including ones by artists nominated for Best Song.

There’s also a growing list of A-list presenters set to give out the golden statuettes. As of writing, the list includes actors and actresses like Zoë Kravitz, Woody Harrelson, Yuh-Jung Youn, and Samuel L. Jackson, as well as musicians including Sean “Diddy” Combs, Shawn Mendes, and DJ Khaled. Even a few pro athletes are set to appear; namely, Tony Hawk, Kelly Slater, and Shaun White.
