It comes after Maura shared photos of the shocking moment a stranger ‘grabbed her arm’ and ‘tried to pull her towards his vehicle’ in a bid to raise awareness of street harassment.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, the star explained the scary moment unfolded after September 9’s National Television Awards, when she was leaving a London venue with two female friends.
The man can be seen seemingly trying to snatch Maura’s left hand before she pulls her arm away from his clutches, in the images shared with her 3.3m followers.

Alongside the images Maura wrote in full: ‘Here is an image of me leaving a venue after the NTAs – this guy that I have never met in my life grabbed hold of my arm and tried to pull me back towards his car.
‘As you can see I’m smiling and the reason being is because pictures can be portrayed very differently, i.e. if I was to shout in anger at this guy, the headline might have been ”Maura gets violent after night out”.’
Sharing a second photo of the incident in which she could be seen pulling her arm from the stranger’s clasp, she added: ‘Luckily I had two girls walk with me to my car and I would NEVER leave a venue alone at night because of this reason.’
She went on: ‘It’s actively predatory, repeatedly violating women’s personal space and boundaries.

‘His behaviour is completely inappropriate and it’s crucial that we address the issue of street harassment.’
Before sharing her own experience of being harassed on the street, Maura had shared footage of a woman in a bar being targeted by two men, before telling fans: ‘For people that think this does not happen… I can assure you it does!’
The TV personality also posted a clip of a female dancer going into detail about being harassed on her way home from a dance class before forced to run.
She said in part: ‘I’ve literally just walked home from a dance and as I was walking home this man started harassing me, he was following me home, he wouldn’t leave me alone. I rang my dad.
Speaking out: Maura recently shared photos of the moment a stranger ‘grabbed her arm’ and ‘tried to pull her towards his vehicle’ in a bid to raise awareness of street harassment
‘Luckily these three men were behind me, these old men, and they asked if I was alright and they walked with me a bit, so this guy then started on these three men and he just wouldn’t leave me alone.
‘So they tried to back him off a bit while I ran.’
She added: ‘This is three occasions now that this week that men have either said something to me or harassed me, what gives them the right? I just don’t even have any words. I’m just appalled.’
