R Madhavan says there’s a lot of ‘hue and cry’ happening over North vs South debate – Times of India

In recent time sit has been seen that several South films like ‘KGF: Chapter 2’, ‘RRR’ and ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ have excelled at the Hindi box office, establishing their supremacy as pan-India films while Bollywood films are crumbling. Furthermore, a Twitter spat between Ajay Devgn and Kiccha Sudeep kick started a language debate too.

Sharing his opinion on the North vs South debate, R Madhavan, who has worked in both the industries, told a news portal that there was too much ‘hue and cry’ happening over it. He added that people are going to accept films they like and reject the ones they don’t and that finding a formula over here is not possible. R Madhavan stated that the weak ones are trying to see a pattern whereas the idea is to bring the audience to the theatres. He also acknowledged that while ‘RRR’, ‘KGF 2’ and ‘Pushpa’ performed well, Hindi movies like ‘The Kashmir Files’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ have also excelled.

R Madhavan is gearing up to entertain his fans with ‘Rocketry: The Nambir Effect’, his directorial debut which narrates the story of ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan, who was falsely accused of espionage. The film is set to hit the screens on July 1 and will be released in Tamil, Hindi and English, and it has also been dubbed in Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. ‘Rocketry: The Nambir Effect’ features a special cameo by Shah Rukh Khan.
