Gauri Khan has quit sweets, kept a ‘mannat’ for Aryan Khan’s release: Report – Times of India

Shah Rukh Khan and family are going through a tough time at home with son in jail. Aryan Khan was taken into custody after drugs were seized by the Narcotics Control Bureau at a cruise party he was attending.

The atmosphere at Mannat, SRK and Gauri’s lavish bungalow, is gloomy with the parents constantly worrying for their son’s well being. India Today has reported that Gauri has kept a mannat (a vow that one makers for their wish to come true) for Aryan and has constantly been praying through the festival of Navratri. She has reportedly quit sugar ever since Navratri started on October 7.

SRK and Gauri are receiving massive support from Bollywood celebrities, who have been constantly visiting their home, but the couple has reportedly asked their friends not to visit so frequently. Salman Khan, who is also SRK’s neighbour, has been constantly spotted at Mannat and is also constantly in touch with the family. Interestingly, Amit Desai, who is defending Aryan Khan, had also represented Salman Khan in the infamous 2002 hit-and-run case. For now, Aryan Khan’s bail order has been reserved for October 20, which means that Aryan will have to spend another six days at Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai. On October 11, SRK had sent a money order of Rs 4,500 to the Arthur Road jail authorities for Aryan Khan’s canteen expenses. Jail officials are reportedly keeping a close watch on Aryan Khan and all the drugs case accused have been kept in a barrack separate from the other inmates for security reasons.

Arguing for Aryan Khan’s bail, senior advocate Amit Desai had previously stated in court, “The fundamental argument is that there was a rave party. I was not found with anything. I cannot be held responsible. There is nothing on the phone about the messages about the rave party. This young man was overseas for a while. In those countries sometimes a lot of things are legitimate. I don’t know what kind of chats there are. I have not seen it. The possibility of conspiracy and speculation cannot hold me back in this case.” He concluded by saying, “Let him be a free man. Let strict conditions be imposed upon him. But this is a fit case for bail. Even if 37(2) I have satisfied requirements under that and there are no antecedents.”
