Ajay Devgn confirms ‘MayDay’ release date, film to hit the theatres next year – Times of India

It’s a crazy Sunday for Bollywood! We already know the release dates of two of the most anticipated films, Ranveer Singh starrer ‘83’ and Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Jersey’. Now, it’s time for yet another release alert as Ajay Devgn took to his Instagram handle to share the big news. He confirmed that ‘MayDay’ will hit the theatres on April 29 next year as promised earlier.

Earlier in the day, Ranveer who plays Kapil Dev in ‘83’, took to Instagram to share the release news and a new poster of the movie. Later on, Shahid revealed the ‘Jersey’ release date.

The news of cinema halls opening in Maharashtra next month has brought a breath of fresh air to Bollywood. Like many others, Ajay Devgn, too, is much relieved. That’s why the celebrated actor decided to come with a Sunday treat for his fans. “Ah, at last the news of cinema theatres opening in October, in Maharashtra, is long-awaited and terrific. As promised earlier, the aviation-thriller drama, produced & directed by me, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Rakul Preet Singh & Me in the lead, will release on 29th April, 2022.
#MayDay,” he wrote on his Instagram handle sharing the pictures of his co-stars Amitabh Bachchan and Rakul Preet Singh.

Ajay Devgn had started work on his upcoming directorial ‘
MayDay’ with great enthusiasm earlier this year but travel restrictions hampered his plans of an international schedule. However, now that the world has opened up, the actor reportedly traveled to Russia earlier this month to plan for a new schedule there. Ajay Devgn,
Rakul Preet Singh and Boman Irani will reportedly shoot for several crucial airport scenes there.

Amitabh Bachchan and Ajay Devgn as the leads, ‘MayDay’ had already been extensively shot in Mumbai and Hyderabad. After seven years, Big B and Ajay have reunited for the silver screen, the duo has previously shared the frame for films like ‘Major Sahab’, ‘Khakee’ and ‘Satyagraha’. ‘MayDay’ is an aviation thriller with Ajay and Rakul essaying the role of pilots.
